STEP 2

Place the rice in a saucepan with a thick bottom. Rinse it in cool water several times, but not for too long, so as not to wash out all the starch that makes the porridge sticky. STEP 3

Pour milk over clean rice. To make the porridge liquid, stick to the proportion of 1:5, that is, take 5 glasses of liquid per glass of cereal. You can replace some of the milk with water. Pour sugar and salt into a saucepan.
STEP 4

Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the milk to a boil. Be sure to stir the porridge a couple of times so that the grains of rice do not stick to the bottom. When this happens, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan with a lid and cook the porridge for about 15-20 minutes.
STEP 5

Stir the porridge periodically. It's better to keep an eye on the cooking - it can run away. Cook the porridge until the rice is soft and has the desired consistency. Then turn off the heat, cover the saucepan with a lid and keep the porridge like that for about 15 minutes - during this time the rice will be completely cooked. Finally, add butter to the porridge and stir.
