    STEP 1

How to make Napoleon cake from pita bread with custard without baking? Prepare your food. My pita breads are thin and round. If you don’t find exactly round ones, feel free to take a regular rectangular one and cut it into either circles or squares, it doesn’t matter. Choose high-quality butter, without additives, that complies with GOST. Take it out of the refrigerator in advance, it should become soft. Milk is suitable for any fat content.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Prepare the cream. How to make cream? Take a saucepan with a thick bottom, this is important so that the custard base does not burn. Pour milk into the saucepan, beat in the eggs, add sugar, flour and starch. Mix the products with a whisk until smooth.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place the saucepan over low heat and, stirring constantly, bring the mixture to a boil. Boil it for several minutes, stirring, until thickened.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Remove the cream from the heat, cover with cling film "in contact" - so that it lies on the surface of the cream, this is necessary to avoid the formation of a crust on top. Cool the custard base to room temperature.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Then add soft butter to it and stir until smooth. The cream is ready.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Toast the pita bread in a hot dry frying pan on both sides until crispy and golden brown.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Select 1 or 2 of the crookiest pita breads and crush them into crumbs to sprinkle on top of the cake. I also added 2 crushed cookies.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Place a cooking ring of the required diameter on the dish, place a sheet of pita bread on the bottom and coat it well with cream. Cover with a second sheet. So, alternating layers of cake layers and cream, assemble the entire cake.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Sprinkle crushed lavash crumbs on top of the cake. Place it in the refrigerator overnight to soak. You can decorate the finished cake to your taste with berries, nuts or grated chocolate. Bon appetit!

I liked the idea of making a Napoleon cake from pita bread with custard without baking. Moreover, I really love Napoleon in any version. For the cake, I took a package of four pita breads, folded them in half and cut out eight circles. As a stencil, I took the bottom of a springform pan with a diameter of 18 cm. I am very familiar with preparing custard, this is my favorite cream) In addition, I poured ground walnuts into the cream, just a little for flavor. I didn’t cool the cream completely; I thought that if it was warm it would soak the pita bread better. In general, I assembled the cake quickly; the lavash circles dried in the frying pan for about 2-3 minutes each. Immediately I lubricated them with cream. The top was sprinkled with scraps dried in a frying pan. However, when tasting, I realized that the topping was not saturated and was a little harsh. It seems to me better to sprinkle with crushed cookies) The cake was soaked overnight in a cold corridor, i.e. It's a little warmer there than in the refrigerator. In the morning we tried dessert for breakfast and were absolutely delighted! The lavash cakes were well soaked in the cream and became soft. In general, the pieces held together, did not fall apart, the cakes did not spread, very stable pieces. It tastes great too! Delicate and delicious quick cake. I will definitely repeat it, adding grated chocolate to the cream for variety)

So I made a Napoleon cake from pita bread with custard without baking. I really love lavash dishes, as I believe that lavash is a universal product that makes excellent dishes. I also love Napoleon. To prepare the cake, I took large round sheets of pita bread with a diameter of 25 cm. I increased the amount of ingredients for the cream by one and a half times. This cream was enough for 8 cakes. The cream is not difficult to prepare and quickly, the main thing is to stir all the time so as not to burn. As recommended by the author, I added 3 tablespoons of condensed milk. The cake does not take long to assemble; I did not use a cooking ring. On Maria's advice, I took cookies for the topping; 4 of them were enough. The cake turned out great, very tasty, tender, with aromatic custard - a real Napoleon! I'm very pleased with the recipe. My advice is that if you like very sweet cakes, add more sugar to the cream. My family asked me to repeat this cake, but make it sweeter. Next time I’ll do the same, only I’ll take 10 cake layers to make it taller, and a double portion of cream. Maria, thank you so much for the recipe! Here is my photo report of the whole cake; I couldn’t take a cross-sectional photo)))

It turned out very tasty, but after trying just the cream with lavash in several layers and the finished dessert, I realized that it’s not worth keeping for very long. It can be eaten, I think, within an hour after assembly.

Hello Veronica. It should be just enough for you. I had either 8 or 10 cakes, 18 cm each. You have more cakes, but the quantity is smaller. That's what it will do. The only thing better is to use all the cake layers in a cake, and for sprinkling on top, just crumble biscuit cookies.

Maria, hello! Tell me, please, how many round pita breads is this amount of cream designed for? I bought ready-made round pita breads, 5 pieces in a pack, diameter 25 cm, weight 200 g. I want to make 10 cakes. I probably need to increase the amount of cream. Thank you!!!
