How to freeze apples
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to freeze apples for the winter in the freezer? Very simple! Prepare your own apples. Depending on what you will be freezing fruit for, you should select apples. Small and medium ones are perfect for baking, and large ones, like everyone else, are perfect for compote. Take apples that are strong and without signs of spoilage. Wash the fruits well in running water and dry.
STEP 2
To store frozen apples, you can use regular bags, but zip lock bags or use a vacuum are best. I advise you to buy the simplest device for these purposes; they are very simple to use, and the products last many times longer and do not absorb each other’s odors.
STEP 3
For the compote, cut the apples into large slices or cubes, removing the core. Cover a baking sheet or flat dish with film and place the pieces in one layer. If there are a lot of them, make several layers, covering each with film. Freeze for 3-4 hours.
STEP 4
Then after freezing they will not stick together, but will be one to one and can easily be poured into a bag. Place in the freezer until completely frozen.
STEP 5
Cut the apples you plan to bake, such as charlotte, into four pieces and remove the core. Cut into slices and place on a baking sheet covered with film in one layer. Sprinkle sugar on top if desired. Place the apples in the freezer until completely frozen, less than 3 to 4 hours.
STEP 6
After freezing, they freely fall off the film.
STEP 7
It is better to store such a workpiece using a vacuum in a thin layer. Since apple slices are thin and easily absorb foreign odors from the freezer.
STEP 8
Sometimes you need apple halves in baked goods. To do this, take small apples, cut them in half and carefully remove the core. Place them cut-side on film in one layer and freeze. Freeze for at least 5-6 hours.
STEP 9
Place the frozen halves into bags and put them in the freezer. I prefer to store them in vacuum bags. Our frozen fresh apples are ready.
