  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make a homemade tarragon drink so that it tastes no different from the store bought one? It’s very simple. For this you will need a fresh bunch of tarragon, or, as it is also called, tarragon. Take highly carbonated mineral water. Wash the lemon and lime thoroughly and dry. Remove the zest from the citrus fruits and grate on a fine grater. Squeeze the juice from the pulp into separate bowls.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash the tarragon, dry it, remove the darkened leaves. Cut the bundle into 2-3 parts. The more tarragon you take, the richer the finished drink will taste.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place tarragon in a blender bowl, pour in lime and lemon juice, and add zest. If you want a brighter green color, you can add a handful of fresh spinach.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Chop the greens and citrus fruits into small pieces.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place the resulting green mass in a saucepan, add most of the sugar and fill with clean drinking water (500 ml)

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring, stirring occasionally, to a boil. Your broth will turn bright green.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

As soon as the mixture boils, remove the saucepan from the heat and leave to cool at room temperature. If you want the drink cold, you can chill it further in the refrigerator. If you want the drink to be the same color as store-bought Tarragon, add a little lime-colored food coloring.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Strain the mixture through a fine sieve or several layers of cheesecloth.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Pour a little concentrated broth into a glass, dilute it with highly carbonated water and add sugar to taste. I didn’t add sugar, since the tarragon decoction was already quite sweet. Bon appetit!

I cook it almost the same way, but I add 30 grams more tarragon, for a total of 100 grams of herbs. But my drink is not as green as yours. I cook like this. Collect or buy fresh herbs. In this recipe I will use not only the leaves, but also the stems. Wash the tarragon well and cut into small pieces. Pour plain water into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Add sugar to boiling water and cook for a few minutes. Add tarragon to the boiling syrup, boil for 5 minutes, turn off, cover the pan with a lid and leave to steep for 2-3 hours. Strain the cooled tarragon syrup through a fine sieve. Squeeze the juice of two lemons and limes there and mix everything. Pour the mixture into a carafe and fill with cold sparkling water. Homemade Tarragon drink is ready! It can be served immediately. These ingredient proportions are perfect for me. The drink is not very sweet, and not very sour, very tasty!
