  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make homemade plum liqueur? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Choose vodka of good quality, without a strong odor and not counterfeit products. You can take plums for the drink of any variety and any color.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Rinse the plums well under running water, preferably each fruit separately. Place the plum in a colander and let the water drain. You can make liqueur from plums with or without pits. The presence of seeds affects the astringency of the drink. However, plum seeds contain hydrocyanic acid, which in large quantities is hazardous to health. Therefore, it is better not to store the finished plum liqueur with pits for a long time.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place the washed plums in a glass jar or other container that will not oxidize. Fill the contents of the jar with vodka so that it covers the fruit at least a couple of centimeters above.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Close the jar tightly with a nylon lid or gauze and place it in a dark place for a month and a half. Plum in water should be infused at room temperature. Once a week, the jar needs to be shaken so that the infusion goes better, the plum is better saturated with alcohol and releases its juice.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

After a month and a half, pour the vodka from the jar of plums into another container. Cover the plum with sugar, close the jar with a lid again and put it in a dark, warm place for 15 days. Once a day, the plum and sugar need to be shaken so that the sugar dissolves and the plum releases juice. After the specified time, drain the plum syrup formed in the jar with plums, strain it through cheesecloth folded in several layers.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Combine plum syrup with plum infused vodka. When mixing, a precipitate may form again. Filter the liqueur again through cheesecloth and cotton wool. Pour the drink into bottles and seal tightly with corks. Store the liqueur in a cool place.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

The liqueur is ready. Bon appetit!
