  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make feijoa jam without cooking, pureed with sugar? Let's prepare the products. We will measure out the sugar after we get the feijoa puree.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

The fruits must be washed well and allowed to dry. When grinding with sugar, excess moisture is not needed.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Cut off the tails and sepals of the feijoa.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

We grind in any way convenient or accessible to you. I use a kitchen processor - a large analogue of a chopper. It is convenient to grind large volumes of product. You can take a blender, you can use a meat grinder, some housewives grate the fruits. Each time you will get a mass of different consistency - with or without large particles. In my version, the result was an almost homogeneous viscous puree.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Weigh the resulting puree. We measure out exactly the same amount of sugar. Add sugar to the ground mixture.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Mix the mass very well. And put it in the refrigerator for at least three hours. Our goal is to dissolve the sugar. If you don’t have any time, try whipping the puree with a mixer with regular attachments. But a less expensive way is time and cold. The sugar then all melted.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

We take the puree out of the refrigerator, mix it again and pour it into previously prepared clean jars. I just washed them well with soda, there is no need to sterilize them, we will store the jam in the refrigerator. We close the jars with lids and put them in the refrigerator. You can eat pureed feijoa immediately. Bon appetit!

Once at the fair, out of curiosity, I bought a small jar of feijoa jam to try, and I liked it. Therefore, when I saw these fruits on sale, without hesitation I decided to make feijoa jam without cooking, mashed with sugar for the winter. I cut it into 4 parts; when cut, the fruits are slightly transparent, which means that they are ripe. I ground it in a grinder and added sugar 1:1. As described in the literature, the aroma and taste of the berry pulp is reminiscent of strawberries, pineapple and kiwi. The jam turned out very tasty and aromatic.

That's for sure!!! This jam is just a vitamin in its purest form. When I was pregnant (just in the fall and winter), this jam helped me a lot. My immunity was useless (my twins took everything they considered necessary)). My husband also bought this fruit for me, but somehow it didn’t suit me in its pure form. But it’s great in jam as a bite with tea.

I love feijoa too) I want to ask if you peel the skin, it’s a little bitter...my mother often prepares frozen berries, pureed with sugar. it turns out to be a very tasty kind of ice cream) it’s nice to eat at any time of the year) the vitamins are of course preserved in the jam, so it’s much better) and the taste is different) in general, thanks for the interesting recipe)
