Dough for chicken with margarine and kefir

Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

How to make dough for chicken with margarine? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Margarine is a cheaper analogue of butter, which is in no way inferior in quality and properties for baking. Soften the margarine in the microwave so that it can be mashed well with a whisk or spoon. Pour room temperature kefir into a bowl; you can use not very fresh kefir for the dough, but, of course, not spoiled.
STEP 2

Beat a chicken egg into a bowl with kefir and margarine. Mix the ingredients with a whisk or spoon. Wash the eggs with soda first, as there may be harmful bacteria on their surface.
STEP 3

Add salt, sugar, stir again so that the bulk ingredients dissolve in the liquid. Sift the wheat flour, combine it with soda. The flour must be sifted not only to remove various types of debris and hairs, but also to saturate the product with oxygen, which in turn will make the dough soft and airy.
STEP 4

Pour the flour and soda mixture into the bowl with the liquid mixture, adding flour in parts. Each time you stir the dough with a spoon, as you may need a little less or more, be guided by the consistency of the dough. You can read more about baking soda and flour in articles on these topics. There are links to them at the end of this recipe.
STEP 5

When it becomes difficult to mix the dough with a spoon, place it on the table and continue kneading with your hands. However, margarine-based dough, like regular shortbread dough, should not be kneaded with your hands for a long time, so as not to make it tight and hard. The main task is to gather the dough into a ball.
STEP 6

The dough is ready, put it in a plastic bag and put it in the refrigerator for half an hour or an hour. In the meantime, you can prepare the pie filling. If you plan to bake the pie the next day, there is nothing to worry about; the quality of the dough will not deteriorate. This delicious dough for kurnik in the oven can be stored wrapped in film in the refrigerator for several days.
