Compote of apricots and cherries
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make compote from apricots and cherries for the winter? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. For harvesting, select only the best fruits. They must be fresh, ripe, but not very soft in order to keep their shape in the compote. There should be no damage or spoilage on cherries and apricots.
STEP 2
Compote can be made in three liter jars or one 3 liter jar. Rinse the selected jars thoroughly with detergent or baking soda, and then rinse several times in running water. Sterilize jars in any way convenient for you. This can be done in the oven, in the microwave or over hot steam.
STEP 3
Sort out the cherry berries from the branches and leaves. Rinse the apricots and cherries well and place in a colander to drain excess water. Cut each apricot in half and remove the pits.
STEP 4
Place apricot and cherry halves into jars.
STEP 5
Separately, boil clean water. Pour boiling water into the jars, cover with lids and leave to stand for 15 minutes. During this time, the fruits will warm up well and be sterilized.
STEP 6
Then drain all the water from the jars into a separate bowl and put on fire.
STEP 7
Add sugar and bring to a boil. Boil for a minute until the sugar is completely dissolved. Separately boil the prepared lids for closing.
STEP 8
Pour boiling syrup over the apricots and cherries again. Close with lids. Turn the jars of compote over to check for leaks. Wrap the compote in a warm blanket and leave to cool completely. Store the cooled jars of compote in a cool place, for example, in a basement or cellar. Enjoy your meal!
