  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make classic shortbread cookies? Prepare all the necessary ingredients for this. The butter should be soft, so take it out of the refrigerator in advance and let it sit at room temperature for a couple of hours. Separate the yolks from the whites. I use C1 eggs. Sift the flour through a sieve to saturate it with oxygen. This is necessary so that the finished products are as tender and fluffy as possible.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

To prepare shortcrust pastry, take a convenient bowl and combine soft butter and sugar in it. Beat for 1-2 minutes until the butter becomes a little fluffier and lighter in color. There is no need to replace butter with margarine. Products made from margarine are tougher.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add egg yolks to the butter. Mix them into the dough. For this, too, you can use a mixer. If you add whole eggs to the dough instead of yolks, the cookies will not be as crumbly as only those made with yolks.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Then add baking powder, a pinch of salt and vanilla. Start gradually adding flour and kneading the dough. There is no need to add all the flour at once. You may need a little more or less. Focus on the consistency of the dough.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

The finished dough will be soft and not sticky to your hands at all. Wrap the dough in cling film and let it rest for about 30 minutes.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Roll out the finished dough into a layer 5-7 mm thick and cut out cookies of any shape. Place the cookies on a baking sheet covered with cooking paper and place in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for 15 minutes. Use your oven as a guide. The cookies are prepared very quickly.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Do not overcook it in the oven, otherwise it will burn. Remove the finished sugar cookies, golden in color, from the oven and cool.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

You can sprinkle the cookies with powdered sugar.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

It turns out very tasty and crumbly sugar cookies. Enjoy your treat!

I had some yolks left over from baking meringue, I kept thinking about what to make from them, I went looking for a recipe - there were many options, but there was something I didn’t like, and here is this recipe - nothing superfluous and all the ingredients were available. I decided to bake it, I chose the shape of hearts, they turned out a little clumsy because I was in a hurry, but this doesn’t affect the taste at all ☺️ at first I thought that they would be soft and not sandy, but as soon as the cookies cooled down they turned into a delicious sandy dessert tea. My son was the first to appreciate it, and the aroma lasted for half a day throughout the apartment. Thank you for such a delicious recipe 🤤

I made classic shortbread cookies using this recipe. I prepared with my child for Valentine's Day. Mixed soft butter with sugar and vanilla sugar instead of vanilla. Added the yolks and stirred. Then added flour and baking powder. At the end I decided to add red fat-soluble food coloring. I kneaded the dough, wrapped it in film and put it in the freezer for half an hour. Then I rolled out the pink dough to a thickness of 5 mm and the child happily cut out hearts with a mold. I baked shortbread cookies for 15 minutes at 180 C. The cooled cookies turned out very beautiful, tasty and original. Everyone loved the pink themed cookies. The dough is crumbly, sweet and super tasty. Cooking is not difficult at all. Wonderful recipe. Many thanks to the author 😊

Thank you for the wonderful recipe!!!❤️ I tried it and really liked it! I’ll cook with my granddaughter))) All I have to do is buy some molds and you’ll be happy 😁. In the meantime, I cut it out with a glass and used creamy margarine and a little butter. You'll get delicious crumbly ones!!! Then I'll try it with butter)

I decided to bake classic shortbread cookies for the children. I kneaded the dough and made cookies using different molds. They turned out delicious, crumbly and cheerful. The children ate them very quickly and asked for more. So now I will cook this way more often.
