    Add egg, flour, salt and spices to grated vegetables. For spices, I recommend using a little ground black pepper and dry dill or parsley.

    Mix everything well to obtain a homogeneous mass.

    Heat the pan until hot. Pour some vegetable oil on it. Using a tablespoon, spoon some of the potato mixture into the pan and form into oval pancakes.

Thanks for the recipe. I haven’t eaten potato pancakes for a long time and I wanted some. The classic recipe was just right and to my taste. The simpler, the tastier - that's a fact. I added a little oregano for flavor and it turned out great. Classic potato pancakes are tasty and crispy.

Thank you very much for the wonderful authentic recipe for classic potato pancakes! My pancakes turned out incredibly tasty, bright, and crispy! In Belarus, such potato pancakes on a coarse grater are called “Hedgehogs”. True, I deviated a little from the recipe and, when preparing the potato dough, added a spoonful of sour cream. In my opinion, this makes the taste of potato pancakes more tender and delicate. The author of the recipe did the right thing by adding onions to the potatoes. Thanks to this, the potato dough remains a beautiful yellow color and does not darken during cooking. I served a dish with chopped fresh parsley and sour cream. My family was delighted with this dinner!

Draniki are a dish that is loved in our family by both adults and children! And the ready-made goodies don’t stay on the table for long. But this time I decided to add coarsely grated zucchini and a crushed clove of garlic to the classic potato pancakes. This couple fit perfectly into the pancakes)) The zucchini added more benefits, and the garlic 🧄 also added a light aromatic note. Although, when pancakes are being prepared, the smell attracts everyone closer to the kitchen.

I decided to make pancakes with the addition of onions. I've never added it before. I made a wrong choice, unfortunately ☹️. The children did not eat it.. So take this into account before making such a dish for children who do not eat onions. Here it was heard in taste. On the contrary, I liked everything. Very tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Very tasty 😋. And also with homemade sour cream - great!
