  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Let's prepare the ingredients for canned tuna soup according to the list. Wash the potatoes, peel them and cut them into small cubes or strips, as you like. It is better to rinse the cut potatoes again to remove starch. Place the potatoes in a saucepan, add water and put on fire.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash the carrots, peel and grate on a coarse grater. You can cut the carrots into thin strips, cubes or any shapes, but you need to keep in mind that the cooking time for chopped carrots is longer than the cooking time for grated carrots, so you need to add them to the soup immediately with the potatoes.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Peel the onions and finely chop them. Place in the pan with the rest of the vegetables.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

To make the soup richer and more satisfying, it is better to add cereal to the ingredients. Rice goes well with canned fish; it is better to use long-grain or steamed rice for soup so that it does not turn into porridge during cooking.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Wash the rice thoroughly, changing the water repeatedly until the water becomes clear; you need to remove as much gluten from the rice as possible so that it does not make the broth cloudy. Place the rice in a pan with vegetables. Cook until the rice and vegetables are almost completely cooked; readiness can be determined by taste. Cook for about 25 minutes.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Mash the canned fish into small pieces with a fork. Place the canned tuna, along with the liquid remaining in the jar, into the pan with the soup. Add salt to taste. Spices such as black peppercorns and bay leaves do not need to be added, since, as a rule, they are added to canned fish. Cook over medium heat for another 5 minutes. Turn off the fire.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Let the soup sit under the lid and serve it to the table, with fresh bread and herbs if desired. Bon appetit!

The soup is very good, and most importantly it cooks quickly. Canned food may be different. See the recipe for this soup with canned pink salmon.

I made this soup with canned tuna with a few minor changes. Instead of rice, I added a mixture of grains. I cooked it not in water, but with the addition of a cube (vegetable). In addition to onions and carrots, I added frozen celery and frozen pre-chopped tomatoes and a little tomato paste for color. The result was a hearty and tasty soup without any problems. I recommend it to everyone! Have delicious dishes☺️
