  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make Borodino tincture with moonshine? Take the necessary ingredients. The basis of the drink is moonshine, and it must be of high quality, preferably home-made and double distilled. After the second distillation, moonshine loses its specific, moonshine aroma - this is important in this recipe, because... the finished tincture should have a bright aroma of Borodino bread. It is possible to replace moonshine with high-quality vodka, made from Lux or Alpha alcohol.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Sort the pearl barley. Here we have two options: rinse the pearl barley or not. If you don’t wash the pearl barley, the finished tincture will turn out a little cloudy, but in the classic recipe the barley is not washed. If you decide to rinse, then dry it well. Next, fry the cereal well in a hot frying pan. The richer the color of the fried pearl barley, the darker the tincture. Cool the barley. Classic pearl barley can be replaced with barley barley.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pour fried pearl barley into the glass jar where you will infuse the drink.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Then add coriander seeds - it is also necessarily used in the preparation of Borodino bread, so it is also added to the tincture of the same name. The coriander can also be ground, but in this case you will have to strain the finished drink through several layers of gauze.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Add cumin. As with coriander, you can add ground cumin.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Fill everything with moonshine. The strength of moonshine should be 45-55 degrees.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Close the jar with a lid and put it in a dark place for 2-3 weeks, until the drink darkens and a distinct bready aroma appears. Every 2-3 days, shake the contents of the jar.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Strain the finished tincture through a fine sieve or through several layers of gauze. Especially if you added ground spices.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Pour the tincture into bottles and seal tightly. Before use, let it brew for 3 days and you can taste it.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

    Be careful when drinking alcohol!

I decided to make Borodino tincture with moonshine for my husband. I fried pearl barley in a dry frying pan. I first washed the pearl barley and dried it on a kitchen towel. I poured the cereal into a two-liter jar, added a teaspoon of cumin and coriander seeds. I filled everything with vodka. I insisted for two weeks, shaking the jar every day. The roasted grains gave the drink not only taste, but also color. The aroma of the tincture is really bright, bready. My husband liked it. Thanks for the recipe!
