Beef in soy sauce
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make beef in soy sauce? Prepare your food. Take good quality beef, preferably tenderloin. Rinse it and dry it well with paper towels. If there are any veins on the meat, trim them off. First cut the beef into plates and then into strips. Try to cut across the grain - this will make the meat softer.
STEP 2
Chili pepper is not for everyone, add it carefully, to taste. If you are one of those people, cut the peppercorns, peeled from seeds and stems, in any way you like. I love pinstripes. You can cut into rings and even put the whole pepper. This is not important, because during frying and stewing the chili will lose some of its spiciness.
STEP 3
Prepare a container in which to marinate the meat. Dishes made of glass, ceramics, and stainless steel are suitable, but it’s better not to take aluminum, it can oxidize. Place pieces of meat and pepper in it. Place peeled and chopped garlic here in a way convenient for you. I chopped it finely, you can put it through a press or grate it.
STEP 4
Pour soy sauce on top. Stir the meat until it is completely coated.
STEP 5
Keep the meat in the marinade for one to two hours. I held it for an hour.
STEP 6
Peel and chop the onion. If you want - finely, if you want - in strips. I chose the second option; it seems to me that the onion straws look more beautiful in the finished dish.
STEP 7
Heat a frying pan or saucepan over high heat, pour oil into it, and heat it well. Add the onion and fry it, stirring, over high heat until it becomes transparent.
STEP 8
When the onion is ready, add the pieces of beef to the pan along with the marinade.
STEP 9
Fry the meat and onions, stirring constantly, over high heat. For this procedure, 10-15 minutes are enough.
STEP 10
In principle, you can already eat meat and set the table at this stage. But, if you want it to be even more tender, simmer it by pouring boiling water over it for a couple of hours (if you have time). Add more boiling water if necessary.
STEP 11
In both cases, the beef turns out unusually tasty and tender. Beef in soy sauce is served with any side dish, preferably vegetables. Bon appetit!
