  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Since it’s winter outside, I have frozen viburnum. But I froze it myself, back in the season. I peeled it off the branches, washed it, dried it and put it in the freezer.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

While the water was boiling, I decided to mash the berries as indicated in the recipe. Since they literally melted in just 10 minutes at room temperature.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

As a result, almost the entire kitchen looked like after a bloody massacre)))) everything was covered in splashes, no matter how carefully I carried out this process)))

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

And there are such splashes on the walls and everything around)))

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Halfway through the process of kneading the viburnum berries, I put it in boiling water and began to gently knead the berries with a ladle on the walls of the pan. And everything turned out much more aesthetically pleasing. The water extinguished the splashes and everything remained in the pan and clean. other steps according to the recipe. I used sugar because we have pancakes with honey for this compote. So that there is no too much honey.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

This is such a beautiful drink in the end. The most important thing is that it is useful, especially in winter.

  7. STEP 7

    Let's taste it))

Viburnum is a berry, in my opinion, not very tasty. I haven't liked her since childhood. But at the same time, viburnum helped me recover faster from a cold. I remember how my mother made jam from it. My summer harvest is not so rich. I made fruit juice from most of it, and compote from the rest. I made viburnum compote from 300 grams of berries. For this amount I took 130 grams of sugar and 300 ml of water. Viburnum really splashes a lot when you crush it. Special thanks to the author for the advice to mash the berries in water. Viburnum compote, like any other drink made from this berry, has a very unique taste and smell. It contains both bitterness and a little sweetness. But the main thing is that it is very useful. Thank you very much for the recipe!
