  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake sockeye salmon in the oven? To prepare delicious and juicy red fish in the oven, prepare the necessary ingredients.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Rinse the sockeye salmon fillet thoroughly in running water. Cut into steaks of equal thickness. You should get 4-5 steaks. It is most convenient to cut slightly frozen fish - this way the cuts will be even. Therefore, if the fish is fresh, first put the fillet in the freezer for 30-40 minutes or a little longer. And if frozen, cut before final defrosting. If you already have sliced frozen steaks, just defrost them in the refrigerator first.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

In a small bowl, mix fish spices, salt and ground black pepper. When using a ready-made fish spice mixture, be sure to read the ingredients on the package. Often such mixtures already contain salt and pepper, take this into account, otherwise you risk oversalting and peppering the dish.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Brush fish steaks on all sides with lemon juice and rub with a mixture of spices. Leave the fish to marinate for 1 hour. Under the influence of lemon juice, the color of the fillet will change slightly - it will become less bright red and will fade.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Shake off excess lemon juice from fish steaks. Transfer the steaks to a baking dish and brush generously with olive oil. Place the sockeye salmon in an oven preheated to 200°C for 15 minutes. If desired, you can leave the fish in the cooling oven for another 5-7 minutes.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Remove the sockeye salmon from the oven. Place a small piece of butter on each steak.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Serve the fish with herbs, quartered tomatoes and red onions. Bon appetit!
