  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make shortbread yeast dough? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Mix margarine softened at room temperature (you can use butter) with sifted wheat flour and grind the ingredients into fine crumbs.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Pour warm milk into a glass, add sugar, stir until the sugar dissolves and add dry yeast. Mix again and set aside. Read all the details of choosing and working with yeast in a separate article at the end of the recipe.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Beat the chicken eggs into a bowl with the flour mixture and add salt. Stir. If you plan to bake sweet products from this dough, add sugar to taste. For products with a savory filling, the amount of sugar added to the yeast mixture is sufficient. To bake cookies, you can add vanillin or other spicy additives, nuts, dried fruits to the dough, to taste.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Pour the milk-yeast mixture into a bowl of flour and knead the dough. You may need less or more flour. Read about the properties of flour in the article below the steps. There is no need to knead the dough for a long time so that it does not become tight and the products made from it become hard. The main task is to collect the dough into a ball of uniform consistency.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Wrap the finished dough in cling film and put it in the refrigerator for an hour. Our shortcrust yeast dough for baking is ready. You can use it to bake pies and pies with different fillings. After forming the dough pieces, they do not need to be left to stand, unlike regular yeast dough, but should be immediately sent to a preheated oven. Bon appetit!

I needed a quick and easy recipe for baby cookie dough. I prepared the shortbread yeast dough as described in the recipe. Only instead of milk I added homemade cream. First I combined margarine and flour. I grated the cold margarine on a grater with large holes and mixed it with my hands. It turned out to be a crumb. Added an egg, a pinch of salt and cinnamon for flavor, and stirred. Pour in sweet cream with yeast and knead the dough. I didn’t knead the dough for a long time as recommended by the author. I wrapped the finished ball of dough in a bag and put it in the freezer for 20 minutes to speed up the process. Afterwards, together with the child, they made cookies. The dough turned out great. It is soft and elastic and does not tear when rolled out. It's a pleasure to work with such dough. My dough came out yellowish due to the homemade egg. Cold shortbread yeast dough is very manageable. I especially liked that you don’t need to leave the products from this dough to proof, which saves a lot of time. Many thanks to the author!

I made this dough with sour cream instead of milk. It makes amazing oven-baked pies. I cooked unsweetened ones with minced meat and sweet ones with apples - I don’t even know which is better!!! Now I’ll try the dough with milk according to your recipe) Thanks to the author!
