Salted meat in the oven

Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to bake meat in salt in the oven? Prepare your food. Take the meat in one boneless piece, weighing about a kilogram - too small a piece will dry out, and a large piece will not have time to cook. I used pork, but beef would also work. The most common salt, coarsely ground, will do. Choose spices according to your taste.
STEP 2
Pour all the salt into the bowl at once. Add to it any spices suitable for cooking meat. I took paprika and ground black pepper; rosemary, thyme, thyme, oregano, dry garlic, as well as ready-made spice mixtures “For meat” are also suitable. Mix salt with spices. Beat the egg into the salt; it is needed to bind the salt together during baking.
STEP 3
Mix salt with egg. You should end up with a moist crumb.
STEP 4
Take a baking dish of a suitable size, I have a glass one, 20*20 cm. Pour a third of all the salt onto the bottom and level it.
STEP 5
Place a piece of meat on the salt. Pre-wash and dry it well.
STEP 6
Sprinkle the remaining salt onto the meat and form a mound with your hands. Since the salt contains an egg, it will stick together well and will not crumble. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Bake the meat for about one hour. The exact time will depend on your oven and the size of the piece. I baked for a little over an hour since my oven doesn't bake very hot.
STEP 7
Remove the finished meat from the oven and leave to cool slightly, then break the salt shell and remove the piece. My salt cracked a little when baking, but I had no problems getting the meat out.
STEP 8
Serve the meat baked in salt with any side dish. You can also use it cold for sandwiches. Bon appetit!
