Roasted peppers in the oven
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to prepare bell peppers baked in the oven for the winter? Prepare all the necessary products. Take the peppers that are fleshy, juicy with thick walls. If possible, use fruits of different colors, then the finished snack will look incredibly appetizing and bright. The amount of salt, sugar and pepper can be slightly adjusted to suit your taste.
STEP 2
Wash the peppers and dry with paper towels. Cut each fruit in half. Remove the core and seeds. Next, cut each half lengthwise into another two to four pieces, depending on the size of the pepper. You should get medium sized slices.
STEP 3
Line a baking tray with baking paper. Place the peppers, skin on top (as in the photo) in one row at a short distance from each other. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the peppers at 180-200 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Baking time may vary depending on the capabilities of your oven.
STEP 4
Be guided by the fact that the finished pepper should become slightly soft, and the skin should acquire a slightly golden hue in places. The pepper can be left as is, or the peel can be removed. I usually prepare an appetizer with skin. If you decide to remove the skin, then remove the peppers from the baking sheet into a deep container, cover with a flat plate on top and leave for 5-10 minutes. After this, remove the peel without much difficulty.
STEP 5
Peel the garlic. You can increase or decrease the number of cloves to suit your taste.
STEP 6
In a deep small bowl, mix unflavoured olive or vegetable oil, salt, sugar, all spices and balsamic vinegar. Add garlic, passed through a press. Mix everything thoroughly until the sugar and salt dissolve.
STEP 7
Wash and rinse jars and lids well. Sterilize the container using any method convenient and accessible to you. Place a few peppercorns in the bottom of each jar.
STEP 8
Place a small layer of bell pepper slices. Add 1-2 tbsp on top. aromatic oil.
STEP 9
Next, make another layer with peppers. Pour in the marinade and so on until the jar is filled to the top. Spread the remaining oil on top.
STEP 10
Line the bottom of the pan with a small towel. Place the jars with peppers, cover the tops with lids, pour water up to the hangers of the container and place on the stove. Sterilize from the moment of boiling for about 20 minutes.
STEP 11
Next, close the jars with lids, turn the top upside down and wrap them in a warm blanket. Leave the peppers to cool completely at room temperature.
STEP 12
Baked peppers are ready! Store jars in any cool, dark place.
STEP 13
Serve on its own with fresh bread or on top of meat, potatoes and more.
