Roasted peanuts in a frying pan in the husks
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to fry peanuts in a frying pan in the husks? Prepare the nuts. When purchasing peanuts without shells, please note that the nuts must be dry and free of foreign odors. If you buy peanuts in transparent packaging, then inspect its integrity, the presence of condensation and foreign debris. If the package contains a lot of darkened, wrinkled nuts, then it is better to refuse such a purchase.
STEP 2
Before you start roasting nuts, I recommend rinsing them, even if you bought the peanuts in a package. There is no guarantee that it was washed at production. Rinse the nuts to remove any dirt and dust that may have accumulated during transportation. To do this, pour the nuts into a colander and rinse them under a strong stream of water. You can wash the nuts in a deep bowl. While washing, carefully inspect the nuts and remove any spoiled ones.
STEP 3
Let the water drain. Now you need to dry the nuts as quickly as possible so that moisture does not spoil the buttery taste of the peanuts. Place the nuts on a towel to dry.
STEP 4
Place the dried nuts in a frying pan. Warm up the pan a little in advance. It is best to use non-stick cookware for frying. Read about how to choose the perfect frying pan in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe. Fry peanuts without adding oil, because they are already a fairly high-calorie nut. First, dry the nuts over low heat.
STEP 5
After the moisture has evaporated, you can increase the heat. Fry the nuts while stirring constantly. To roast the nuts faster, place them in a single row in the pan. This way, each nut will come into contact with the hot surface of the pan. It is advisable not to leave the stove while frying. You need to stir the nuts all the time with a spatula. Cook the peanuts for 10-15 minutes. Try nuts periodically.
STEP 6
If you see that the sides of the nuts are heavily fried, but the inside is still damp, then reduce the heat. The finished nuts have a toasted appearance, crackle in the pan, and the skin is easily removed from them. When the nuts are ready, turn off the heat. You don’t have to immediately pour them into another container. Leave the peanuts in the pan for a while to let them “cook”. The husks of roasted peanuts can be easily removed. Bon appetit!
