STEP 1
How to cook rice porridge with pumpkin in milk in a saucepan? Prepare all the necessary ingredients for this. Peel and core the pumpkin and cut it into pieces. Round rice is great for porridge. It boils a little and makes the porridge just like porridge - more homogeneous and a little viscous. The first thing you need to do is prepare the pumpkin.
STEP 2
Line a baking dish with a sheet of foil. Place the chopped pumpkin in the pan. Spread the chopped butter over the pumpkin and sprinkle with a little sugar. You can use plain or brown sugar for this. Brown will give a slightly caramel flavor. Cover the form with the pumpkin with foil and place in the oven, preheated to 190C, for about 30 minutes (depend on your oven). During this time, the pumpkin will become soft.
STEP 3
To prepare the porridge, rinse the rice several times in cold water. Then transfer it to a cooking pot and add water to it. Place on the fire and bring to a boil. Then cook the rice covered over low heat for 15-20 minutes. The rice should become soft. Make sure it doesn't burn.
STEP 4
At the end of cooking, add a little orange zest to the porridge for flavor. You can also add a little ground cinnamon or vanilla extract.
STEP 5
Pour milk into the porridge and add a little butter. Keep the porridge on low heat for another 5-7 minutes. During this time, the rice will absorb the milk and the porridge will become more homogeneous. You can add a little more milk, depending on the consistency of the finished porridge you want.
STEP 6
Place the finished porridge on prepared plates and place the baked pumpkin on top. When hot, the porridge is incredibly tasty and aromatic. By the way, pumpkin can be mixed with the porridge directly in the pan.
