Oatmeal jelly from rolled oats flakes on water
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to cook oatmeal jelly from rolled oatmeal in water? Prepare your food. It is better to take bread without yeast, prepared with sourdough. It contains only beneficial bacteria that ferment the flakes quickly and efficiently.
STEP 2
Pour warm water over the cereal. The water should not be very hot, just warm. Water at this temperature has a better effect on bacteria, causing their growth. It is better to use glass containers for ripening flakes. Stainless steel is also suitable, but you should avoid aluminum - it reacts with acid. I took a glass jar. Place a piece of bread on top of the cereal. Cover the jar with a napkin and place in a warm place.
STEP 3
The next day it will be clear that the fermentation process has begun - bubbles will appear on the surface and the mixture will acquire the smell characteristic of fermentation. Stir the mixture with a spoon. And leave it to ferment for another day.
STEP 4
After 48 hours, pour the mixture into a sieve placed over a saucepan. Wait for all the liquid to drain. You can squeeze a little on top with a spoon. You won't need the grounds anymore; you can throw them away.
STEP 5
As a result, you will get this cloudy liquid. It tastes sour.
STEP 6
Place the expressed liquid on low heat.
STEP 7
Cook the jelly over low heat with constant stirring. Add a pinch of salt. It will gradually begin to become thicker.
STEP 8
When the mixture reaches a boil, it will have completely thickened. Wait for the consistency you want and immediately turn off the heat.
