Mackerel in a slow cooker with vegetables
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

Let's prepare simple products. The amount of tomatoes, onions and carrots is at your discretion - but believe me, they will not be unnecessary. I have a small onion, so it’s a whole plate.
STEP 2

First of all, we clean and cut the fish. If you have fresh frozen mackerel, let it thaw overnight in the refrigerator. We cut off the head and tail, cut the abdomen lengthwise and take out all the insides. Rinse well with water so that no black films remain. Blot the fish with paper towels.
STEP 3

Cut into portions. I get 4 pieces from one fish. I only have 2 pieces of mackerel, so I got 8 serving pieces.
STEP 4

Now let's take care of the onions. Cut into thin half rings. The amount of onion is at your discretion, but there will be no excess.
STEP 5

Peel the carrots and grate them on a coarse grater. The quantity is also up to your taste.
STEP 6

Wash the tomatoes, trim off the stems and cut into small cubes.
STEP 7

Now we assemble the dish for cooking. Place half the volume of onions and carrots in the multicooker bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste and mix everything a little with a spoon and handle.
STEP 8

Then add half the volume of chopped tomatoes to the vegetables.
STEP 9

Then we place pieces of mackerel on our vegetable pillow. 2 chopped mackerel fit well in one row in a slow cooker. Salt and pepper to taste.
STEP 10

We also place onions, carrots and tomatoes on top of the fish. Don't forget about spices (salt and pepper). Place a bay leaf on top and that's it. We do not add water or oil to this dish - mackerel is cooked in its own and vegetable juice. Therefore, this dish can rightfully be considered super dietary! Place the bowl in the multicooker, close the lid, and set the “stew” program for 1 hour.
STEP 11

When the multicooker “squeaks” and informs you that the program has ended, open the lid, take out the bay leaf, we no longer need it, and gently use a spatula to “press” the fish into the vegetables so that it sinks even better there, close the lid and place the dish on 15 minutes in "warm" mode
STEP 12

Our aromatic, delicious mackerel is ready! Serve on a bed of vegetables. The vegetables will be soft and very tasty!
STEP 13

Fish is delicious both hot and cold. When serving, sprinkle with fresh herbs.
STEP 14

Cook for your health and bon appetit!
