  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make lemonade from lemons and mint? Very simple! To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. You can adjust the amount of sugar, lemons and mint to your taste. The larger the lemon, the more pronounced the taste of the drink.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash the mint and dry it. Remove the leaves from the branches and chop them with a knife to release the juice.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Since lemon is used in compote together with the peel, rinse the fruit thoroughly, rub with a brush and rinse again.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Then cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice out of the halves. It is more convenient to do this with a manual or electric juicer.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place chopped mint and lemon peel into the pan. Fill with cold water. How to avoid bitterness in the drink? Bitterness is imparted by the white layer between the pulp itself and the zest. The thinner this layer is, the less bitterness there will be. Therefore, choose fruits with thin skin. If you see that the white layer is thick, then it is better to use only the yellow zest, removing it with a knife. The bitterness doesn’t bother me, so I added the whole rind.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Place the pan over medium heat. Bring the water to a boil and simmer the compote over low heat for 5 minutes. During this time, the zest and mint will give their taste and aroma to the drink.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Remove the pan from the heat. Add sugar and stir thoroughly. Cool the drink until warm.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

When the drink has cooled, remove the lemon peels from the pan. Strain the lemonade through a sieve into another container. Pour in lemon juice and stir.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Place the lemonade in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours until completely cooled.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Pour the chilled drink into glasses. Add mint leaves, fresh lemon slices and ice cubes to each and serve immediately. Bon appetit!

I really love lemon-flavored drinks. Therefore, when I saw on the website a recipe for a lemonade drink made from lemons and mint, I really wanted to make it. I didn’t have fresh mint, so I replaced it with dried one. I took a medium sized lemon. I added 100 grams of sugar, as indicated in the recipe. The drink turned out moderately sweet, with a rich lemon and mint flavor and a slight bitterness. I always really like this bitterness. This lemonade is an excellent alternative to store-bought drinks. I will definitely be making this again. Maria, thank you very much for the recipe!

I love lemonade made from lemons and mint, but I also like honey and cinnamon. Tasty and healthy! And if you add a drop of rum then...

I wanted something fresh and a lemonade drink made from mint and lemon caught my eye. Five minutes of business and voila! Refreshing lemonade is ready. I added 2 teaspoons of honey to the indicated volume. It turned out moderately sweet, sour from the lemon, mint and cinnamon are also noticeable. It was difficult to guess the taste of cinnamon, since I had never dealt with it. So I added the stick to the boiling lemonade for just a couple of minutes. As for me, it’s just right. It’s also interesting that when lemonade is warm it tastes one way, but when it’s cold it tastes completely different. Prepare very quickly. Now I’ll try to make it without honey and sugar for my diabetic husband. This is much better than store bought drinks.
