  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake a lavash pie with cheese in the oven? Prepare the necessary products. The main thing is to choose good quality Armenian lavash - it should be thin and practically translucent and smell pleasant. Read about all the nuances of choosing pita bread at the end of the recipe.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Any type of hard cheese that is available will do: Russian, Dutch, creamy, Poshekhonsky, Maazdam, etc.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Mash soft curd cheese with a fork. Again, the type of cheese is not important here - you can use feta, feta cheese, or Adyghe cheese. Even ordinary cottage cheese is perfect - it will also be very, very tasty. In principle, you can use only one type of cheese or, conversely, mix 3-4 varieties. When several types of cheese are combined, the result is much more interesting and tastier.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Gently mix both types of cheese. The filling is ready.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place half of the filling on the pita bread. My pita breads are very large, there are two sheets of them in a package, but there are smaller pita breads, three pieces per package. In this case, divide the filling according to the number of pita breads.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Carefully roll into a roll so that the pita bread does not tear. But even if it breaks, it’s not a big deal; it won’t affect the appearance of the pie in any way.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place the pita bread in a snail-shaped mold. I always use baking paper, which I do not grease with vegetable oil - if the paper is high-quality and thick, then nothing will stick to it. You can choose the right parchment paper and baking dish by reading the separate articles on the links at the end of the recipe.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Place the remaining filling on the second pita bread and roll it similarly to the first pita bread. I just had two pita breads fill out the form.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Melt the butter in a water bath or in the microwave. Read about how to do this correctly at the end of the recipe.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Drizzle melted butter over the pie.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Lightly beat the eggs with a fork or whisk.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Add milk to the egg mixture and stir until smooth.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Pour the resulting mixture of eggs and milk over the pie, and sprinkle sesame and flax seeds on top if desired. You can choose just one or not sprinkle at all - it's a matter of taste.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

Bake the pie in an oven preheated to 160 degrees for 30-40 minutes. The pie should brown and set. The exact time depends on your oven. You can learn about the operating features of ovens by reading a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.

  15. STEP 15

    STEP 15

Remove the finished pie from the oven, cool slightly and serve.

  16. STEP 16

    STEP 16

    Bon appetit!

A very simple recipe for a delicious lavash pie with cheese in the oven. I only made the filling from sweet cottage cheese (cottage cheese, egg, sugar). I was not very successful in choosing the shape - I baked it in an old cast-iron frying pan, greased with vegetable oil, where I placed two lavash rolls like a snail. The pie turned out big and thin. At the same time very tasty! Thanks for the recipe!
