  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to cook jelly from compote and starch? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. You can take absolutely any compote. You can take compote from a jar or cook it in a pan from any berries or fruits. Different compotes will produce jelly with different flavors. Starch can be corn or potato. I take potato. If you use corn, add 1.5 times more.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Strain the compote from the berries through a fine strainer. Pour some of the compote into a glass to dissolve the starch.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pour the main part of the compote into a saucepan. If desired, you can add a little sugar. When starch is added, some of the sweetness is lost. Place the pan with compote on the fire and bring to a boil.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add starch to a glass of compote and stir it thoroughly so that no lumps remain. To add starch, the compote in the glass must be cold. If starch is added to a hot or warm liquid, it will remain in lumps. If you like thick jelly, add more starch.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Add starch into the boiling compote, stirring constantly, in a thin stream. Leave the pan on the heat and bring to a boil again, stirring occasionally. Boil the compote for another minute until the starch is completely cooked.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Remove the jelly from the heat and leave to cool. To prevent the jelly from becoming crusty, sprinkle it with sugar and do not stir.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Kissel is ready! Pour the jelly into a carafe and help yourself! Bon appetit!

The other day I opened a three-liter container of cherry compote. They drank half of it right away, and the other half stands there and doesn’t attract attention. Therefore, I decided to use the leftovers to make jelly from compote and starch. I replaced the lemons with citric acid. The result was a delicious jelly that did not stagnate for a long time

I made jelly from compote and starch. If you use ready-made compotes prepared for the winter, the cooking process is simplified and accelerated))). I had a compote of apples and grapes, rich in both the amount of sugar and the number of berries, so after straining, I added boiled water to the compote to get the desired volume of the drink and a balanced taste. I brought the compote to a boil, poured in the dissolved starch, and brought everything together again to a boil. Tasty, aromatic, nutritious! Thanks for the recipe, Julia M!
