Any bread will do, I have Borodino bread with coriander on the top to enhance the aroma of kvass, but any bread will do. The richer the color of the bread, the darker and tastier the kvass will be. Please note that there is no need to wash the raisins, since on their surface there are bacteria necessary for fermentation.

I wanted to make homemade bread kvass without yeast. For this I took Borodino bread, cut it as directed and dried it in the oven. Then I did everything as described in the recipe. I had three kvass. Apparently it’s not warm enough for it yet) It turned out to be a beautiful color, with a slight sparkle thanks to the raisins. For me, this is one of the best summer drinks.
