Green beans with chicken over a fire in a cauldron
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
Prepare all the necessary products that you will need to cook green beans with chicken in a cauldron over a fire. Cut the chicken into pieces, peel the onion and garlic, rinse the tomatoes, beans and herbs under running water.
STEP 2
Light a fire and set up a cauldron.
STEP 3
When the cauldron is well heated, pour vegetable oil into it and leave for a few minutes until the oil is hot. Cut one onion in half and fry, leave until a golden crust appears. Remove the fried onions using a slotted spoon.
STEP 4
Place the chicken in the cauldron. Keep the fire at maximum, as at this stage you need to fry the pieces until golden brown.
STEP 5
Stirring continuously, cook chicken for 5 to 10 minutes. Then pour boiling water so that it half covers the pieces of meat. Cover the cauldron with a lid, turn the heat to moderate and cook the chicken for 30 to 50 minutes. Cooking time depends on whether your poultry is domestic or purchased. The meat should be almost done. It took me about 50 minutes.
STEP 6
Meanwhile, prepare the green beans. If she is not young, then remove the tails and antennae on both sides. Cut the pods into 2 or 3 parts, as in the photo.
STEP 7
After the specified time has passed, check whether there is a lot of liquid left in the cauldron. If so, add some wood, increase the fire and, stirring with a slotted spoon, evaporate the excess juice. Add finely chopped onion.
STEP 8
Cook for about 5 minutes until the onion is lightly browned.
STEP 9
Next comes the line of chopped tomatoes and beans.
STEP 10
Mix everything carefully, add salt and pepper to taste and season with your favorite spices.
STEP 11
Cover the cauldron with a lid and leave on a low fire until the beans are completely cooked. Cooking time depends on how young your beans are (mine took about 30 minutes). Open the lid periodically; if the beans start to burn, add just a little boiling water. If the tomatoes are juicy, then they are enough for cooking without adding water.
STEP 12
Sprinkle the finished dish with finely chopped garlic and herbs. You can serve!
