STEP 1
How to cook compote from frozen sea buckthorn? Prepare the necessary ingredients. In addition to sea buckthorn, you can use other berries and fruits, for example, lemon for a pleasant sourness.
STEP 2
Thaw the sea buckthorn at room temperature; natural defrosting prevents the beneficial substances from evaporating from the berries. If you defrost sea buckthorn in the microwave, it will lose its appearance and some vitamins. If the berries were sorted and washed before freezing, then all that remains is to wait for them to thaw. Otherwise, the berries need to be carefully washed and sorted so as not to crush them.
STEP 3
Pour clean filtered water into a saucepan or metal cup made of non-oxidizing material and bring it to a boil. Add sugar and stir until it is completely dissolved.
STEP 4
Now you can add sea buckthorn berries to the syrup. This sequence allows you to preserve most of the vitamins in the berry, since sea buckthorn is immersed in hot water and does not cook in syrup for a long time.
STEP 5
Boil the compote over medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. The compote is ready. Turn off the heat and let the drink sit covered for about 15 minutes, after which it can be served with cookies or buns or simply as a vitamin drink.

This compote is much healthier than canned compotes sealed in jars for the winter. Bon appetit!
