Duck stewed in its own juice
Delicious, aromatic, juicy duck with vegetables!!! Very tasty, satisfying and healthy!
Step-by-step preparation
Cooking time: 1 hr 40 mins
STEP 1
Let's prepare the products. Peel the vegetables. Wash the duck well and dry with paper towels.
STEP 2
Cut the duck into portions.
STEP 3
Cut the carrots into rings and the onion into half rings.
STEP 4
Place pieces of duck in a saucepan (cauldron) in layers - salt and pepper - bay leaves - some vegetables. And so we do several layers - until we use all the products.
STEP 5
The top layer should be vegetable. Cover with a lid and put on fire. On high heat, let it bubble for 4-5 minutes.
STEP 6
Then turn the heat to low and simmer with the lid closed for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Mix occasionally.
STEP 7
After an hour and a half, the juicy and aromatic duck in its own juice is ready.
STEP 8
Serve with vegetables that have been stewed with meat. Very tasty! Bon appetit!

I really love duck this way: a lot of carrots, cut into portions and stewed in its own juice! I cut the carrots into thicker rounds, and instead of bay leaves (I just don’t like them at all, I only add them to fish soup and jellied meat) I throw in half cloves of garlic. Great recipe! Sometimes there is sauce left over, so the next day I stew potatoes in it

The duck turned out very juicy and soft! There were doubts that water was not added, but I still followed the recipe and did not regret it, there was a lot of juice from the duck and vegetables, I simmered it for 2 hours and during this time I stirred it only 3 times. Thank you for such a delicious and successful recipe!
