Dough for jellied pie with milk

Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

How to make dough for jellied pie with milk? Quite simple and fast. First, prepare the necessary ingredients. Take the highest grade flour. Milk of any fat content is suitable. Take large, choice eggs. If the eggs are small, take 3 pieces. The eggs and milk should be at room temperature, so remove them from the refrigerator in advance. You can replace or supplement the paprika with turmeric or other spices to taste.
STEP 2

Break the eggs into a bowl and whisk thoroughly until smooth. Wash eggs first with food grade detergent, as they may harbor harmful bacteria.
STEP 3

Pour room temperature milk into the beaten eggs and stir.
STEP 4

In a separate bowl, sift the flour with baking powder, salt and paprika. Mix everything with a spoon. Please note that if you use paprika, the dough may take on a reddish tint during baking. How and in what cases you can replace baking powder with soda, read the article. There is a link to it at the end of this recipe.
STEP 5

Pour the flour mixture into the milk and whisk until smooth, breaking up any lumps. If necessary, add a little more flour little by little. Focus on the consistency of the dough. It should be semi-viscous and fluid, like thick sour cream. In this case, the filling should remain on the surface and not sink. Remember that you may need less or more flour; you can read more about the properties of flour in the article, the link to it is at the end of the recipe.
STEP 6

Jellied dough made with milk without yeast, ready for savory pies. Start baking the pie right away. This dough does not need to be proofed, otherwise the effect of the baking powder will end and it will not be airy. The dough is unsweetened, so the pies should have a unsweetened filling. You can take canned fish, boiled rice with egg, cabbage, potatoes, chicken, etc. I used this dough to bake a pie with boiled rice, egg and herbs. Bon appetit!
