This portion of batter took me about half the loaf. The slices are fried quite quickly, resulting in an appetizing golden brown crust. Place the toast on a paper towel to absorb the oil. A small amount of sugar makes these toasts versatile. Some people found it delicious, but my son put cheese on top. They also spread honey, strawberry jam and fig jam on toast. Delicious! I also love this kind of toast, but I fry it in butter, I think it tastes better, vegetable oil goes better with vegetables and meat, but this option is also good, of course! I don’t add sugar to the creamy egg mixture, but then sprinkle the finished croutons with sugar, I like it when the sugar crunches...
