    STEP 1

Prepare the ingredients needed to prepare the soup. Wash and clean the vegetables, sort and wash the lentils. For this soup I use green lentils, they are also called plate lentils. I don't pre-soak it. Place the chicken drumsticks in a pan of water, put it on the fire and bring to a boil. I remove the foam that appears, add a little salt to the water and add lentils, bring it to a boil again and skim off the foam. Now cook on low heat with the lid closed for 1 hour.

While the chicken and lentils are cooking, cut the carrots into thin slices and sauté them in a frying pan with a small amount of vegetable oil.

When the chicken is ready, we take it out and place it in a separate bowl. I don’t like to leave meat or chicken in the first course I’m preparing; I always add it to the plate before serving. At the same time, I make sure to weigh the finished meat or chicken and take the weight into account when calculating the calorie content of the dish. Now you need to make sure that the lentils are almost cooked, add the potatoes and carrots cut into cubes, add salt, and cook over low heat for another 10 minutes.

All that remains is to add the turmeric, cook the soup for another 10 minutes and add the bay leaf. With Bay Leaf, the soup simmers slowly for just 5 minutes, turn off the stove, cover the pan with a lid and give the soup time to brew a little! When serving the soup, do not forget to put sour cream on the table so that you can add it to the soup. Bon appetit!
