STEP 1
How to stew chicken in sour cream? Prepare the ingredients according to the list. I cooked chicken legs, but the meat can be anything: breast, thighs, legs. It is better to use chilled poultry, but if you bought frozen, then defrost the chicken first on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. Then wash and dry with paper towels.
STEP 2
Peel the onions and carrots, cut into small cubes. To prevent onion juice from irritating your eyes so much, rinse the onion and knife with cold water before slicing. If you grease the cutting board with a slice of lemon, it will not absorb the unpleasant onion smell.
STEP 3
Cut the legs into portions, add salt and pepper, and add curry. Pour refined vegetable oil with a high smoking point into the frying pan. Reheat. How to check if the oil is hot enough? Dip a wooden spatula into it, if bubbles gather around, start the frying process. Place the chicken and fry on both sides until golden brown. Transfer to a plate. In the same pan, fry the onion and carrots until soft.
STEP 4
Add flour to the pan, dilute it with hot boiled water, stir so that there are no lumps. Add sour cream of any fat content and bring to a boil. Sour cream can be replaced with cream or thick natural yogurt.
STEP 5
Place chicken pieces into the sauce and simmer until tender over low heat for about 30-40 minutes. How to check readiness? If the meat is easily pierced with a knife, clear juice flows out, then you can remove it from the stove and serve.
STEP 6
Serve the chicken in sour cream sauce, sprinkled with chopped fresh herbs (dill, parsley, green onions) on top. Pickles and marinades are suitable additions. You can also prepare any side dish - mashed potatoes, pasta, rice, buckwheat. Bon appetit!
