My son's favorite pies are cabbage pies. Therefore, when I bake pies, I always make cabbage pies, among others. I usually stew cabbage for filling, but I’ve never used it fresh for pies before. I made the pies early in the morning, so I didn’t use a blender so as not to wake up the household. I chopped the cabbage with a special shredding knife. In addition to salt, I added a little pepper to the filling. If I didn’t know that the filling was made from fresh cabbage without prior thermal preparation, I wouldn’t have guessed it. The pies turned out delicious, which I am very happy about. Thank you for such a simple recipe for cabbage filling for pies! Now I will use it regularly.
