    For this recipe, it is better to take sweet, sour and juicy apples. I have green ones - they fit perfectly. Wash the apples, peel them, divide them into four parts and remove the core.

    Grate the prepared apples on a coarse grater. You can rub them just before adding them to the dough so that they don’t darken, or you can lightly sprinkle them with lemon juice and mix.

    Sift wheat flour into a deep bowl and make a well.

    Pour milk into a saucepan, put it on the stove and heat it up. Remove the milk from the stove and add water, you get a warm mixture of water and milk, add an egg, a pinch of salt. Beat everything well with a whisk until smooth.

    Pour the resulting liquid mixture into the prepared well in the flour mixture, stirring continuously. Add the grated apples there and mix well again. The dough should be medium thick. Cover it with a damp cloth or lid and leave it to rest for one hour.

    After the allotted time has passed, put the frying pan on the stove over high heat, heat the refined vegetable oil, as soon as it boils, reduce the heat to medium. Place the finished dough in a frying pan with a wooden spoon, in small portions, and fry until golden brown and completely cooked on all sides. Remove with a slotted spoon or a special iron strainer. We use all the dough. Sprinkle the finished donuts with powdered sugar to improve the taste.

I want to share my opinion. Since I didn’t have any milk, I remembered my youth and replaced it with baby formula. The dough for my household is unleavened, so I took a chance and added 1 tbsp. without a mountain of sugar. My apples were not large and the dough turned out to be runny, so I took the thicker part, but when there was only dough left without apples, I poured it out too and it turned out to be a pretty tasty crumpet. So, either more apples or the dough for the empty ones is delicious. And lastly, I have a small frying pan and this amount of oil turned out to be too much, my donuts sank and turned out to be greasy. Well, this is not an acquired taste, I just did it for the child, so I put it on a napkin. I apologize to the author if something is wrong, no offense, I’m just sharing my opinion in case it comes in handy for someone.
