  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make dessert jelly from agar-agar? Prepare your food. My strawberries are frozen; there is no need to defrost them first. If the berry is fresh, then sort, wash and dry it. Adjust the amount of sugar to your taste.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Place the strawberries in a saucepan, add 100 ml of water and sugar. How to dilute agar agar for jelly? Pour agar-agar into another container with 250 ml of water and set aside for now.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place the saucepan with the strawberries over medium heat, bring to a boil and simmer for one minute.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Then drain the broth through a strainer, throwing the berries on it; you can use them as you wish - add them to the jelly or not.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Pour water with agar-agar into the resulting syrup and return the pan to the heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, simmer for a minute or two. This is how agar differs from gelatin - it can be boiled, and it is when boiling that agar reveals its gelling properties. Gelatin, on the contrary, is destroyed when boiled.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

This is optional, but I added some frozen strawberries to the bottom of the cups. Or, alternatively, you can add boiled berries if they have retained their shape. I poured a small amount of hot syrup with agar-agar over the berries and put them in the refrigerator.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

After 20 minutes in the cold, the berries had already “set”, and this allowed them not to float when filling the cups to the brim.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Pour the syrup into the glasses completely. Place them in the refrigerator and keep until completely frozen. Bon appetit!

Our family’s favorite no-bake dessert; I often make different jellies. To be honest, I didn’t even know that agar-agar jelly was any different from gelatin. But it turned out that the taste and consistency are very different. It was a revelation for me. I also used frozen strawberries for the jelly. As soon as the strawberries boiled, such a bright summer aroma floated, as if there were actually strawberry beds bathed in the sun. So if you want a piece of summer, make some strawberry jelly! I should have put a little less sugar, apparently the berries were also very sweet. Or add lemon juice. But this is a matter of taste; many people like sweet jelly. The whole procedure is simple and clear. What I noticed was that as soon as the liquid began to cool a little, the jelly immediately began to thicken and cool in the refrigerator; I put it away completely ready! I tried warm jelly for the first time)) It doesn’t look like gelatin at all, it has a purer taste, without the taste and smell of gelatin. The consistency is like a solid gel. This is very unusual and so delicious! And how fragrant it is thanks to the summer berries) I definitely recommend making this delicacy!
