    STEP 1

How to make tomato sauce with onions for the winter? Prepare all the necessary ingredients according to the list. Tomatoes for harvesting must be used that are well ripe, and not soft and broken, so that the harvest does not spoil. Wash the tomatoes in running water, drain in a colander, and let the water drain completely. You will learn all the subtleties of winter preparations by reading an article on this topic. Link at the end of this recipe.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

If the tomatoes have thick skin, it is better to remove it by pouring boiling water over the fruit and then dipping it in cold water. Cut the tomatoes into several parts, remove the place of attachment to the stalk.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Chop the tomatoes. You can do this using a meat grinder or blender. Place the tomatoes in a deep container and use an immersion blender to turn them into tomato puree. When using a blender, you don’t even have to remove the skin from tomatoes; it is all collected in the unit’s chopper and can be easily removed.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Pour the tomato mass into a saucepan made of non-oxidizing material. Put it on fire. Boil the tomato paste for about 10 minutes over low heat from the moment it boils, stirring constantly with a spatula so that the tomato puree does not burn to the bottom of the pan. How to choose a pan, read the article at the end of the recipe.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Peel the onions and cut into rings. If the bulbs are large, then in half rings or feathers.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Place the onions in a saucepan with tomato paste. Add salt (necessarily coarse rock salt so that the workpiece does not sour), sugar and ground black pepper. Boil the mixture over low heat for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Then pour in table vinegar. Keep on heat for another five minutes and remove from heat.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

You need to prepare small jars for this preparation in advance. Wash the jars with soda and sterilize in the oven or other convenient and proven method. When sterilizing in the oven, place the jars while still damp, neck down, on a rack in a cold oven. Turn on the oven at 150 degrees and keep jars with a volume of 0.5 liters - 10 minutes, 1 liter - 15 minutes. Wash and boil the lids, metal ones can also be sterilized in the oven.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Place the hot tomato sauce and onions into sterile jars and cover them with lids.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Place the jars in the oven, turn it on to 150 degrees and sterilize them for about 10 minutes. Roll up the jars with lids. Let the workpiece cool at room temperature upside down under a blanket and store it in a cool place. Bon appetit!

I prepared tomato sauce with onions for the winter using this recipe. I chose large tomatoes that did not fit into the jar and cut them coarsely. I added 1 sweet pepper and a lot of garlic to the sauce; we really love garlic in preparations. I also took onions, and half a kilo of onions per kilo of tomatoes. I crushed everything through an electric meat grinder, it seems to me that it’s faster. I also chopped the onion, rather than cutting it, so that the sauce had a uniform consistency. First I cooked it for 10 minutes as described in the recipe. Then I added all the spices on the list and simmered the sauce for another 40 minutes. I added vinegar and boiled for another 5 minutes, as the author writes. I poured the hot sauce into jars and put it in the oven for 10 minutes, as recommended by the author. Rolled up and ready! This is a wonderful winter preparation. You can simply eat the sauce with potatoes or pasta, or you can add it to dishes during the cooking process. The tomato sauce came out very tasty, rich, aromatic and beautiful! Great recipe and easy to prepare. I’ll make another batch and recommend it to everyone. Many thanks to the author!
