  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make sherbet, a Turkish drink from berries and fruits at home? Very simple. First, prepare all the necessary ingredients according to the list. Any fresh or frozen berries and (or) fruits are suitable for sherbet. I used frozen strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. You can also choose any ice cream, for example, you can take a regular white ice cream, I chose raspberry and chocolate ice cream.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Rinse the berries thoroughly under running water, place them in a cooking pot or saucepan and cover with water, then put them on the stove to cook. After boiling, reduce the heat and simmer the berries for about 20 minutes, skimming off the foam.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Strain the berry syrup; you can use the berries later in baking. Add sugar to the syrup and put it back on the stove, after boiling, cook for about 10 minutes over low heat, do not forget to skim off any foam that has formed.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Remove the berry syrup from the heat and leave to cool; for a faster process, you can place the container with the syrup in cold water.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place ice cream in the bottom of a glass or other suitable sherbet container.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Pour the half-cooled berry syrup over the ice cream.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Add milk, it must be cold. If desired, garnish the drink with mint leaves for extra flavor, and you can also add a few ice cubes. From this amount of ingredients I got two servings of the finished drink. Serve Turkish berry sorbet immediately while it is still cool. Cook with pleasure!

I liked the recipe for sherbet, a Turkish drink made from berries and fruits. An interesting combination of products, especially since it contains my favorite ice cream. For the syrup, I used frozen lingonberries and strawberries. I cooked them over low heat, then strained and mashed the berries. This makes the syrup thicker and richer. I took a little less sugar, then I realized that I should have taken half. For my taste it turns out perfect. Reduce the syrup and cool in a bowl of cold water and ice. My ice cream is a creamy ice cream, it is quite sweet. I think a less fatty berry would work well. Milk added 1.5%. Then I added more milk, it tastes better to me). In general, there is a lot of room for imagination: you can use different berries and fruits, change the ratio of milk and syrup, etc. I got a delicious, sweet, aromatic sorbet! It has creamy tenderness, a pleasant milky taste and a tart note (thanks to lingonberries). This thick and bright soft drink is more like a dessert!

In the summer you really want something cool and tasty! I decided to try making this dessert. The berries I had were cranberries and raspberries. I made some syrup. The sweetness of the syrup can be varied to suit your taste. I wanted a dessert with sourness, so I added a little less sugar than in the recipe. After cooking for 10 minutes, I crushed all the berries with a blender and cooked for another 10 minutes. The result was a sweet, not cloying taste with sourness! Thank you for the recipe! A great dessert in summer weather! After experimenting a little with adding different amounts of milk and syrup, I came to the conclusion that I liked simple syrup with ice cream the most 🤣 Although my milk was cold, it was apparently not cold enough for hot weather.

I really like soft drinks. I made Turkish sorbet from strawberries. Strawberry cocktails are a great thirst quencher on summer days. This berry sherbet is also perfect for a festive banquet. I really liked your recipe, thank you. It’s so interesting to try what they drank in the Osmas Empire)))

I love sherbets, and despite the calorie content, I made myself a Turkish berry sorbet. To say that I liked it a lot is to say nothing. It turned out very tender, not cloyingly sweet, but truly refreshing. And yes, indeed, my daughter also fell in love with it, she asks to make it all the time, fortunately it is very simple and quick!!!
