STEP 1

How to make hot sausage and mayonnaise sandwiches in the oven? Very simple and fast. To begin, prepare all the necessary ingredients according to the list. You can replace boiled sausage with smoked sausage, as well as ham, raw smoked or boiled smoked meat. You can replace mayonnaise with full-fat sour cream.
STEP 2

Instead of rye bread, you can use a loaf. It is better to buy sliced bread. This way you will save yourself time. In addition, equally cut even slices look more beautiful on the table. Cut the bread into slices about 1 cm thick.
STEP 3

Cut the boiled sausage into thin slices. If the sausage is large in diameter, cut the circles in half.
STEP 4

Cut the tomatoes into slices. If you have cherry tomatoes, cut them in half. Choose tomatoes that are juicy but firm. Soft fruits do not hold their shape well; during cutting and cooking, they will spread into a shapeless mass and spoil the appearance of the dish.
STEP 5

Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. I like to grate cheese on a grater for Korean carrots - when baked, it turns out to be a beautiful openwork web. I use regular Russian cheese, but any to your taste will do.
STEP 6

Grease slices of bread with mayonnaise. For convenience, I transferred the mayonnaise into a pastry bag and cut off the tip.
STEP 7

Place two slices of sausage and one slice of tomato on the mayonnaise. If you wish, you can omit the tomato from the sandwiches or replace it with other vegetables.
STEP 8

Sprinkle the sandwiches with grated cheese on top.
STEP 9

Place the sandwiches with mayonnaise and sausage in an oven preheated to 180°C for 10-15 minutes until the cheese melts. The exact baking time depends on your oven. I baked on the “top-bottom” setting.
STEP 10

Place hot sandwiches with sausage, cheese, mayonnaise on a plate, garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately while hot. Bon appetit!
