  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake red fish in the oven with cheese? Prepare all the necessary products. You can use any red fish (I used salmon). The dish will turn out as juicy and tasty as possible if you take fresh fish that has not been frozen. If you have fish from the freezer, you should first defrost it at room temperature. Remove scales from the fish, rinse and dry. Cut the fillet into 2 or 4 equal pieces.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Make the filling. Break any soft cheese of your choice (I used feta) into the smallest pieces possible with your fingers or mash with a fork. Cut the olives into thin circles, semicircles or small cubes. Combine cheese and olives in a deep bowl.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add ground pepper and other favorite seasonings. Rinse the greens, dry and chop. For the recipe, I took a couple of sprigs of thyme, parsley and green onions. Mix everything thoroughly.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Make deep longitudinal cuts in each piece of fish with a sharp knife, as in the photo. Place the salmon, skin side down, in a suitable sized baking dish. If necessary, lightly salt the fillet, but keep in mind that the cheese and olives are salty on their own. I didn't use salt.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place cheese filling into each cut. Spread the remaining cheese on top of the fish. Pour olive or refined vegetable oil evenly over the fish. At this stage, you can sprinkle the pieces with fresh lemon juice.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Place the pan in a preheated oven and leave for 25-30 minutes (until fully cooked). At what temperature and for how long should I bake fish? It completely depends on the capabilities of your oven. I baked for about 30 minutes at 200 degrees on the “top-bottom” mode.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Serve salmon with cheese hot with fresh vegetables and salads. The fish is also tasty when chilled.

Cooking red fish in the oven with cheese did not take me much time; I baked a steak. I have frozen dill for greens, so that’s what I used in this dish. I lined the pan with foil, greased it with sunflower oil, and put in the steak, cut into 2 parts along the ridge. For spices I used salt, ground black pepper and lemon juice. My baking time was 40 minutes. The fish turned out delicious, soft, juicy, with a cheesy taste!
