Mmm... dumplings with potatoes are a soulful dish, I also like to add a little fried minced pork to them, it’s no worse than what happens with lard!

It’s interesting - if it’s Ukrainian, does it have to be made with lard? I was born and raised in Kyiv, but I don’t like lard and my daughters don’t eat lard either. We are probably some kind of wrong Ukrainians. What I am accustomed to as a Ukrainian is compote. In our house, we almost never drank tea, we always made compote from fresh fruits, and dried apples (and not only) for the winter. and sealed up a lot of compote for the winter. and I started drinking tea when I moved to the north.

It took 2 hours to prepare. I don’t like mushrooms ground in a meat grinder in dumplings, but cut into pieces. I think it tastes better this way.
