  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make oat milk? Prepare your food. To prepare oat milk, use large flakes that take a long time to cook. Instant cereal is not suitable, especially since it contains very small amounts of useful components. Take a bowl and pour the cereal into it.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Take a liter of cold boiled water. Pour this water over the oatmeal and leave it for 12 hours. It is more convenient to do this at night to prepare milk for breakfast. It doesn’t matter how much oatmeal is used, the main thing is that the ratio of oatmeal to water should be 1 to 10.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

After 12 hours, stir the swollen mixture, then pour the mixture into a blender. Beat it until white and homogeneous.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Now strain the mixture. To make it more convenient to filter the resulting liquid, take a deep bowl or saucepan, place a sieve on it, on which place several layers of gauze (2-3). Pour the oat mixture into a sieve and let it drain. You can help a little with a spoon.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Pour the strained white liquid from the container into a jug, bottle, or immediately pour into glasses. Oat milk is ready. From 100 grams of flakes and a liter of water, a little more than 800 milliliters of the finished product was obtained. Store milk in the refrigerator. The shelf life of this product is 5 days. So making milk from cereal at home does not require much effort, and it turns out much cheaper than store-bought milk. Bon appetit!

I’ve been wanting to try oat milk for a long time, but never got around to it. And the recipe is actually simple and clear. I prepared half a portion for testing. I soaked the oatmeal overnight, and in the morning it swelled a little. Blend the mixture with an immersion blender until smooth. I strained the remaining oats through a fine strainer, although a little pulp seeped into the liquid. It turned out 470 ml. oat milk. I wouldn’t say it tastes very good, it’s similar to “oatmeal in a jar” that is not boiled) But the addition of honey greatly improved the milk, it became sweet and tasty. It became like a child's liquid porridge. Actually, I had an idea to bake pancakes from this milk, I want to taste them) This milk is suitable for vegetarians and fasting people. You can also use it to cook porridge for a child with allergies. I think everyone should try making oat milk at least once) Thanks for the recipe!

It doesn’t taste like store-bought, it has a tart taste, you need to sweeten it somehow if you just want to drink it. If this is a preparation for another dish, then I think it will do just fine.

Thanks for the recipe, I've added it to my bookmarks. I started thinking about veganism, so I want to try it. I bought it out of curiosity - I liked the taste, but it turned out to be a little expensive. It’s easier to do it yourself) I’ll definitely do it when I get my hands on it and add a photo report!
