  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to cook meat in tandoor? Very simple! Prepare all the necessary products. You can cook beef steaks or bake a whole piece of meat in a similar way. This time I have young veal weighing about 1.5-1.7 kg.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

So, rinse the meat under running cold water and dry it with paper napkins to remove any remaining moisture. Cut the piece into two parts. This will marinate the meat better and make it easier to bake in the tandoor. Rub the beef with spices and salt. Sprinkle with soy sauce. Massage the pieces well on all sides so that the spices are distributed evenly over the entire surface. Keep in mind that soy sauce itself is salty, so reduce the total amount of salt.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Leave the meat to marinate at room temperature for 1-1.5 hours. Cover the beef with cling film to prevent it from airing. While the meat is marinating, fire up the tandoor. To create the required amount of coals, heat the tandoor for at least one hour (it usually takes me 1-2 hours). When the tandoor has thoroughly warmed up and reached the desired temperature (the walls inside will turn white), you can proceed to the next step of cooking.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Place the marinated meat on a special grill, pre-greased with vegetable oil.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Send to the tandoor. Cover with a lid and bake until desired doneness. It took me about 40 minutes. After 20 minutes, I swapped the pieces so that the meat would cook evenly. As a result, my meat came out medium rare. Cooking time depends on the tandoor model, the number of coals and the size of the pieces.

    STEP 6

You can check the readiness of the beef by making a cut on the piece with a sharp knife. If you like your meat well done, increase the cooking time. Serve the cooked beef hot in combination with vegetables, sauces and salads.
