Kifle bagels with cheese

Ruddy, tasty and beautiful bagels for breakfast! Kifle is the name given to butter bagels in the former Yugoslavia. Basically, they are made without filling and without any special tricks, but since they are baked in almost every home, every housewife, of course, tries to come up with something of her own, original. I baked it with cheese. It fused with the dough and the taste was simply magical!

    Dough: heat the milk, add sugar, yeast, a little flour, stir well and place it on top until ready. Then add salt, half the flour, mix, add oil. Add the remaining flour and knead into a soft dough. Look at the dough - it may take less flour. Roll the dough into a ball and place it on the table under a bowl. Keep an eye on him! The dough rises very quickly! When the dough rises, knead it and let it rise again. The whole process took me an hour.

    Turn on the oven at 200 degrees. Cut the cheese into thin slices. Tear off pieces the size of a small apple from the dough.

    Roll each piece into an oval three mm thick, approximately 13x7 cm in size. Place a thin piece of cheese on one half of the oval.

    on the second we make three longitudinal cuts from top to bottom almost to the cheese, like a fan.

    Roll it into a tube, starting with the filling, place it seam side down on oiled paper and grease it.

    For lubrication, beat the egg with sugar and milk.

    Place the baking sheet with the bagels in the hot oven and bake for about ten minutes until golden brown. Tasty and unusual!

    The same bagels can be made with milk chocolate and marmalade slices. Only after baking they need to be sprinkled with powdered sugar. From this amount of dough I got 14 bagels. Happy baking!
