  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make mustard from mustard powder? Prepare all products according to the list. You can use any vegetable oil of your choice. Take bottled, filtered, boiled water. Salt - preferably fine.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Pour vegetable oil into the bottom of a transparent glass or jar. It will not allow the mustard powder to stick to the bottom when stirring. The transparent walls of the container in which the mustard will be prepared also contribute to more thorough mixing, because You can immediately see where there is still dry powder left.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place mustard powder in a glass with vegetable oil.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add salt and sugar. Stir a little.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Now add warm (not hot!) water little by little, take your time, pour in a little and stir, then pour in more and stir again. Mustard absorbs water well, add just enough to get a consistency similar to thin sour cream. There should not be a single dry spot left in the glass.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Now add a little lemon juice and leave the mustard for several hours in a warm place so that it infuses and “ripens”. Ripened mustard is sharper and more vigorous.

A very simple, affordable recipe. The mustard turned out excellent, vigorous. I haven’t added lemon juice before, but we liked it. I cook it immediately in the jar in which I store it. I have small jars with a wide neck especially for this, so that it is convenient to stir. The recipe came in very handy for preparing jellied meat. Jellied meat and homemade fresh, angry mustard are a classic tandem. Many thanks to the author for the recipe.

I made it from 100 grams, but instead of lemon I added vinegar, you need to catch the consistency, but it’s better to make it a little thinner and mix it better, it hasn’t brewed yet and is already nuclear, as I wanted, add freshly ground black pepper and the taste will be even better and richer

This is a general recipe, a base. Then it's up to the chef's imagination. Instead of water, I use brine or water infused with cloves, laurel, coriander, and nutmeg. In general, spices to suit your taste. Sugar can be replaced with fruit syrup or honey. Lemon is replaced with vinegars to taste, citric acid, and other citrus fruits. Create to your taste.
