STEP 1

How to make green asparagus with bacon in a frying pan? Prepare all the ingredients as listed in the recipe. Wash the asparagus and dry with a towel to remove any remaining water.

Cut off the tough stems from the sprouts, as in the photo. If you have younger, thinner asparagus, you may not need to do this.
STEP 3

Pour water into a saucepan and bring to a boil. If desired, add a pinch of salt to the boiling water, but keep in mind that the bacon itself is salty and further cooking may make the asparagus too salty. Blanch in boiling water for about five minutes, then transfer to ice water.
STEP 4

Remove the cooled stems from the cold water and leave to dry for a while. Wrap thin ribbons of bacon around them. Heat odorless vegetable oil in a frying pan. How can you tell if the oil in a frying pan is hot enough? This is quite simple to do; dip the edge of a wooden spatula or the tip of a wooden toothpick into the oil. If small bubbles appear around, then you can start frying.
STEP 5

When cooking, use a thick-bottomed frying pan whenever possible. Fry the asparagus and bacon over moderate heat until the bacon strips are browned. Turn over periodically to ensure everything cooks evenly.
STEP 6

Serve as a separate dish with fresh vegetables. Boiled or fried eggs go very well with bacon-wrapped asparagus.
