  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make gravy with tomato paste and sour cream? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. You can use sour cream of any fat content. I have 15% sour cream. Tomato paste can be replaced with ketchup.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Peel the onion and rinse in cold water. Then finely chop the peeled onion.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Heat the frying pan until hot and pour a little vegetable oil on it. Add the chopped onion and fry it for a couple of minutes over low heat until translucent.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Then sprinkle flour on the onions and mix everything so that there are no lumps of flour left.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

In a separate glass, mix water with tomato paste and sour cream. Take filtered water. Tap water can spoil the taste of the finished gravy. The amount of water can be changed slightly depending on how much and how thick the gravy you want.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Pour the resulting sauce into the frying pan with the onions. Mix everything and heat to a boil. The sauce will begin to thicken as it heats up. Add a little salt and spices to taste. You can use any spices according to your preference. I added some ground pepper and paprika.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

The sauce with tomato paste and sour cream is ready! It can be served as an addition to a side dish of rice or pasta. You can stew cutlets, meatballs or meatballs in it.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Pour the prepared gravy over the selected dish and serve. Bon appetit!

I prepared a gravy with tomato paste and sour cream for the meatballs. I took twice as many products. I like it when the onions are fried until golden brown, so the taste of any dish takes on a pleasant caramel note. So I kept the onions in the pan longer. Then sprinkled it with flour. I thought that the flour would form clumps, but no, it evenly enveloped the onion pieces. I used one spoon less sour cream so that the tomato predominated in the gravy. My spices are black and red pepper. At first the gravy was very thin, but very soon it began to thicken. This is where you need to stay close to the stove and stir it constantly. I boiled it until it was quite thick, but you can make the gravy thinner. For me it turned out tender, the sour cream did not curdle, and the onion was almost invisible. With this gravy my meatballs became even tastier. Thanks for the recipe! I recommend to everyone!
