Gravy for pasta with meat without tomato paste
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make sauce for pasta with meat without tomato paste? First, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. If you use frozen meat, you must first defrost it properly on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. You can use any vegetable oil, I used sunflower oil. You can replace regular paprika with smoked one, then the gravy will have the appropriate light aroma.
STEP 2
Wash the meat, be sure to dry it with a paper towel, otherwise excess moisture will not allow it to fry - it will stew. Cut into cubes.
STEP 3
Peel the onion and cut into half rings. If you or your children don't like onions, you can omit them altogether. In addition to onions, you can add other vegetables to your goulash to taste, for example, grated carrots.
STEP 4
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the onion and fry, stirring, for 3-4 minutes until translucent. How to choose the ideal frying pan and oil for frying, read articles on these topics. Links at the end of the recipe.
STEP 5
Add the beef and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until all the beef has changed color.
STEP 6
Add the garlic cloves passed through a press into the pan, add paprika, ground pepper and salt. Stirring, cook for another 1 minute.
STEP 7
Add flour and mix again.
STEP 8
Pour boiling water into the pan until the water completely covers the meat and stir. Add sugar and bay leaves. Simmer the meat gravy over low heat at a low simmer for about 1 hour until the meat is tender. The exact braising time depends on the selected part of the carcass, the age of the animal and the degree of heating. If you want more gravy, increase the amount of water and flour by 1.5 times.
STEP 9
The pasta sauce with beef and flour is ready. It goes perfectly with almost any side dish. Especially with rice, pasta, buckwheat and potatoes. Bon appetit!
