Yesterday I just read a recipe for focaccia in a magazine. There the tomatoes needed to be fresh, so I think you can use fresh ones in this recipe too.

IMHO - of course, you can replace anything, but still, sun-dried tomatoes taste a little sweeter than fresh ones, I think the taste will be slightly different

Girls, of course, can be replaced, but dried ones will add a special taste and aroma and oiliness, if you want. And fresh ones will add extra moisture. I usually sprinkle oil from sun-dried tomatoes on top of the focaccia and then it becomes very aromatic, because... Dry tomatoes in a large amount of herbs. It seems to me that there are no such tomatoes and there is no need for them! Make it without them, sprinkle with rosemary and oregano, it will also be fragrant. I'll probably post my recipe for sun-dried tomatoes, it's not difficult at all.
