  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to cook fish soup from canned sardines? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. Sardines can be taken either in oil or in tomato sauce. I use sardines in tomato sauce so that the soup has a rich tomato flavor.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Pour the required amount of water into the soup pot, put it on the fire and bring to a boil. Peel the potatoes, rinse them to remove dirt and cut into pieces. Rinse the rice in cold water. Add chopped potatoes and washed rice to boiling water. Leave to cook for 15 minutes.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Separately peel the onions and carrots. Finely chop the onion. Carrots can be grated or cut into large pieces.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Pour a little vegetable oil into a frying pan and fry the onions and carrots for 2-3 minutes.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Then pour tomato juice into the pan with the vegetables. Fry the vegetables in the juice for a minute.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Place the finished roast in a saucepan with soup. Add the sardines. Add some salt and spices to the pan. As a spice, I limited myself to just ground pepper. Boil everything together for another 5 minutes. Rice and potatoes should become soft.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Fish soup is ready! Remove the pan from the heat, pour the soup into bowls and serve. Bon appetit!

Fish soup made from canned sardines is an excellent option for quick preparation. I had canned food in stock, blanched in oil, I took homemade tomato juice, and frozen dill. The soup turned out light, aromatic, tasty and quick! Thank you, Yulia M!

I saw fish soup made from canned sardines by accident; it attracted my attention because it was unusual - it was necessary to use tomato juice. Besides, I needed a quick soup recipe. There were just leftover tomato juice and a can of sardines. I have sardines in their own juice, but I stew the onions with the addition of tomato juice, which is no worse. I didn’t have carrots, but that’s okay, I still don’t really like them in fish soups. I prepared the rice and potatoes, threw them into boiling water, and after 15 minutes added sardines and onions stewed in tomato juice. I didn’t forget about the spices - for me it’s salt, pepper, ground coriander, bay leaf. That's all, the aromatic soup is ready in a hurry. I’m definitely adding it to my treasury and will cook it again and again.
